Hunter Barnes walked into the emergency room hand in hand with his two saviors at the old Naval Hospital; the very same place that he had passed away in after his Daddy and new brother worked so hard to try to save him. Had they not tried so hard and ignored the advice of a Medbot, he surely would not be alive today.
Looking around the room, he gave each of the boys' hands a squeeze and asked: "Can I do this on my own?"
"We'll be right here," Caleb replied as KC gave a knowing nod.
The little boy slowly opened the door leading into the ER hallway. He approached the counter where Nurse Patty was seated and politely asked her for a cup of water, which she was happy to give the impish little guy. Carefully handling the large cup, he cautously opened the door leading into the room where the Medbots slept.
"Hey. Med Robots." He stated, gaining the attention of the one closest to the door.
"Yes small child. How can we help you?" The Medbot inquired.
The small boy fumbled a little with the large cup of water, took a sip, and then cleared his throat. "Which of these robots is number fifteen?"
"I am number fifteen." Another reported as he quickly approached the boy. "How may I be of assistance."
"Do you remember me?" The child asked with a concerned expression. "You do, don't you?"
"I am afraid that I do not." The Medbot replied. "Is there something I may help you with?"
"Yeah," Hunter said with a smile. "Can I look at your inner computer stuff? I really wanna see what it looks like."
"As you wish." The Medbot quickly replied as he moved closer and opened his service access panel.
"Thank you," Hunter said as he looked inside and quickly dumped the entire cup of water onto the unprotected electronics at the heart of the unit. As sparks flew and the unit crashed to the floor, Hunter dropped the cup and walked to the twitching unit. Kicking it he stated in an angry tone: "Patient has a four percent chance of survival." and with a second kick, he looked at the other units that were coming online and attempting to approach. "Any of you try to help it, and I bring a fire hose in here!"
